'He begged me to stay and claimed we were short staffed': Employee promised raise when they turn 16, boss refuses and gets told off by employee

Turning 16 is a major milestone for many teens. You can start learning to drive, you can get a job in many states, and for this person, their boss promised them a raise when they turned 16. When you're working a low-wage job, even the tiniest of raises can make a huge difference. It can mean getting a treat at your favorite coffee shop, seeing a movie with your friends, or just filling up your gas tank a little more. It makes a difference, and it's wild that this boss thought that his employee would just forget that they were promised a raise. 

This boss really needed u/imgoinginsane222, making them work doubles and begging them to work shifts they weren't scheduled for. But as so often happens, this boss didn't appreciate a good employee, and lost them as the employee realized their worth. On to bigger and better jobs (and salaries!).
